Greetings.
I took a drive this morning and after being on the road about 3 hours i stopped for some gas, i also happened to be checking my oil this time. I found that both of my radiator hoses were collapsed. At no time did my car overheat, stayed at exactly 192* on the highway and never got above 217 (thanks GM for your lazy fan settings).
I googled the issue and it would seem that the seals in my radiator cap have failed and are not allowing coolant to leave the overflow tank and go to the radiator. I drove home, an additional two hours still without cooling issues.
My question is: Is there any real need to rush to replace my radiator cap? Im paid every two weeks and cash is a little tight right now. Am i safe driving it like this for another week?
Am i at a greater risk of boiling over where the system pressure is lower that atmospheric pressure?
