Howdy; Just recently bought a 2000 Grand Prix GTP. It runs perfectly, but I noticed the radio light was out and some of the DIC lights were out too. Fixed the radio, and used some #24 lamps to repair the DIC lights. Funny, the TRAC Off light bulb was broken, as if someone removed the dash trim, removed the DIC faceplate, and used pliers to bust the bulb. Well, after I repaired all the bulbs, I see that the TRAC light stays on, constantly, as long as the ignition is on. I ran codes, and got this: P0650 MIL Control Circuit Malfunction, and P0446 EVAP Emission Control System Vent Circuit Circuit Malfunction. After that, I discovered that the MIL light does not come on, nor does the ABS light. Even when first turning on the ignition. The car runs great though. Any advice about this would be appreciated.

uhh evap could be a stored (history) code or pending.

and you may need a new instrument cluster with that mil malfunction one...maybe im not for sure

Gotta do that, check them bulbs. After what I found with the DIC, no tellin'. I just discovered the issue a little while ago. Is ther a way to do it, without pulling the cluster? Somewhere at a harness plug?

The P0650 may be due to someone rupturing the SES bulb...sneaky buggers.

Pull dash trim. Cluster is 4 7mm bolts. One or two connectors on back of it.

Well, there I was, removing screws with my head up my ***, removing those nice silver torx screws, then I realize that the screws only hold on the clear plastic cluster lens So I put those screws back in and remove the REAL instrument cluster screws. Got the cluster out, pleasantly surprised by the nice long pony tail attached to the back. You could almost drive down the road, and let wifey (back seat driver) have at the gauges . . . . .
Damn Evil no-good used care dealers! (well, to be honest, he could've been bamboozled too) The ABS light was gone, as well ans the MIL light and Perf light. Is there a part number for these? They are about the same size as the DIC lamps, but have gray bases and the bulb is physically a little skinnier. Maybe it's a lower amp bulb.
So, what I'm looking at, is a TRAC light that was burning. along with ABS light on. So that tells me that I either need a new ABS module or a new hub or two; is that correct?

Could be, but there's no way to prove if it was the used car dealer or one of the two previous owners. Anyways, whatever it needs, I reckon I'll fix it.

If they were smart they would have removed the bulbs, blew them with high voltage and reinstalled. You could then say "they must have blown". What a bunch of dumba$$es. I would call them with your findings.

These are a bit smaller that 194's. The 194 work in the larger 1/2" sockets also present in the cluster, but what I need are the 3/8" ones, and they take a smaller bulb. I looked on the bay, and they sell some, with suggested lamp sizes: 17 18 27 37 58 70 73 74 79 85 86 206 207 286 306 307 308 406 407 2721 WHAT TH . . .? that's quite a selection! I'll have to figure out which one is the proper one for this application.

#73/74's are replacements for 194's. I got these, they are T1.5's (73/74). They fit in the DIC and I replaced a burnt out bulb in the cluster. But now that I think about it, I think there were a couple different sizes back there. T1.5 LED Twist Lock Lamp Specifications

I think I figgered it out; the smaller ones take a #37 lamp. Yeah, there are two different sizes.
