Ok so anyone have any tips? Im not a heavy footer but i feel like im consuming a lot of gas then i should be. No gas leak at all by the way.

I know a dirty fuel filter can affect fuel economy a little bit right? When should i change that? Fuel injection cleaner? Anything about that?

Thanks a lot to those for helping me as i post CONSTANTLY asking the random silly questions.

If you don't want to pay 20 some bucsk for GM fuel system cleaner Techron Fuel System Cleaner made by Chevron has almost the exact same chemicals in it. Its like 12 bucks

Well then i guess i should stop freaking out in a middle of a drive when my low fuel light comes on. I know the most ive ran before putting gas in was about 317. I always assumed it was 13.5 gallons because of filling up after 317 miles and it would stop around 13 gallons. I usually avoid the low fuel light and under the quarter of a tank line is when i put a little bit back in to over at least half a tank.

For your 98 I'd suggest removing the Throttle Body from the Upper Intake Manifold then remove the Mass Air Flow Meter. You'll have to go get the special torx bit(s) with the hole in the middle at the parts store and pick up a throttle body gasket. Remove the Mass Air Flow from the Throttle Body and clean them separate. Use Mass Air Flow cleaner on the MAF and Throttle Body cleaner on the Throttle Body. It's easier to get to everything good and you'll find a lot of carbon build up on the inside of the TB. Put everything back together carefully and taadaa.

What's the average mileage one can go on a full tank of gas?

Also should be noted to NOT touch the MAF wires inside with anything, just spray it down thoroughly with some pressure and let it air dry. Touching will result in you going back to the store to buy a new sensor.

My 04 GTP makes about 330-350 miles on a tank, and I live in the mountains... lots of interstate though too. My DIC says average is 21.2mpg. Im hoping it'll go up now that I fixed my MAF issue.

    Lets see....

    Clean MAF and TB
    New Plugs/wires
    New O2 sensor
Seafoam in the gas tank and oil (about 50mi. before an oil change)
    Properly inflate tires
    Change air filter
Remove any unecessary weight from vehicle
Drive lightly (no WOT from a stop)
Check for and repair any vacuum leaks

In my 00 GPGT with a mix of city and highway (running the A/C) I can get about 410-420 on a full tank, which means from Full to completely empty. If not all the way empty since I like my fuel pump I get about 400mi. to a full tank, and that includes some WOT runs on the highway passing people.

HOLY CRAP!!! Then I got a problem to!!! LMAO

My car runs fine, no problems, no SES light, and plenty of power. No matter how I drive I can only average 250 miles per tank......

I have new LIM gaskets, UIM, Removed the throttle body and cleaned it and the MAF, new fuel filter, new plugs and wires, new downpipe, Ubend and Res delete... I do have a heavy foot, but nothing like WOT all the time... I was getting the same mileage before my engine fire to...

    Now I'm concerned.... LOL

thats better than mine...i go from empty to full and its only 11 gal max...and i only get about 180 miles...roughly 17 mpg max...so that blows. i did plugs, o2 sensor, oil change recently...not sure what the heck is the deal...and not sure why i can only put 11 gal in from full empty, that or my tank sensor is WAY off

Not sure why mine is not 17-18 gallons. From E, it takes around 13 gallons to fill up.... and that is fillng it after several "clicks" off.
