all gauges are a bit different car to car. but also keep this in mind, when the low fuel light comes on, you should have 100 miles of travel left in the tank, so there's 3 or 4 gallons right there in the bottom of the tank.
ive also noticed in my regal it only takes 13 to 14 gallons to fill it up from E.
i thought i just cleared this up.
every car has a reserve of 100 miles in the tank when the light comes on, thus leaving at least 3 to 4 gallons in the tank when the light comes on. 4 + 13 = 17 last time i checked. we all have a 17 gallon tank. plus the fuel lines and filler neck.
Every fill up (I always go from full to amost empty) is anywhere from 14.7 - 15.2 gallons on fill up... That's ~ 16.5 MPG
17-19 mpg city is all these things are rated for. Hit traffic, expect 14 mpg or less.
27-30 mpg requires freeway and careful driving, as in no accelerating to pass people and other nonsense like traffic.
25 mpg or that you go wot every time you touch the gas?
seriously had it with GP owners claiming they're "hard on their cars" then get amazing fuel economy.
Just doesn't happen.
Damn I feel bad. I get a little better than 200 miles a tank city and 350 on the highway. I am running slightly shorter tires and cooler tstat. I'm about to swap back to a stock Tatar and correct size tires. I used to pull 30+ on the highway, now I'm around 27 the last time I was on the highway.
Let me know if that Tatar helps and where you pick one up.. I might need to get one myself..![]()
