    Your AC removes the moisture from the vehicle and defogs the Windows. you don't have it on or it doesnt work. It does more then just make your car cold. Thus the reason your AC Compressor kicks on when selecting floor/windshield and windshield

    I'm very surprised Noone has explained this yet or mentioned it
