Aeroforce parameter question

My car came with an aeroforce scan gauge already installed and I really just use the knock retard and coolant temp. My question is what other parameters should I be watching and where should they be at. Maybe we could get a list together of acceptable parameters for all the different scans.

would all depend on mods. if ur car is stock then really just boost, u shouldnt have to worry about KR with stock pulley/car... my 0.02 cents

stock cars knock though so you can watch it. more stock id regulate between temps. coolant you have the stock gauge, its accurate enough, id look at tranny temp and knock for sure. you can watch your fuel trims if youd like

volts, ignition advanced, map in hg ( use that instead of the boost one), trans temp, short term fuel trims, long term fuel trims, really just anything you want to look at.

I would do some more research on what each of them actually does, until then you'll just be staring at it wondering why your **** jumps around so much.

So can anyone tell me what is a normal range for different parameters. I'm interested in ltft oxygen sensor voltage and any other important ones. The gauge really doesn't do any good of I dont know what to look for.

Do you have an factory service manual? Right in there, it tells you what the various things are and what to expect. It's pretty priceless for a guy learning.

I had not been able to find one for a 97 but I did grab a 3 volume set for the 98's I ran across hoping much of the ifo would be the same/similar enough to be useful. Thing is huge though but I will start looking in it.

The spark advanced scared me on mine cuz it reads negative but I guess that is a stupid 97 thing.

Yeah..you'll find the parameters in any year FSM that I've seen.

Negative timing display is a 97 thing. I think 96 3800's had it too. Not sure though.

Sarasota..since you have an FSM. Take a look through it.. I think that info I'm referencing was in the general section. Once you find it.. scan it in .....please.

You are welcome. Now that I found it though I am even more frustrated as my car is running in acceptable range of all numbers that I can scan for. I am gonna make a video of the car running/driving and post it up and see what people think. Maybe it's normal but it just does not seem like it to me. Oh well if it was not this I would have more free time and who needs that...

That is what I was talking about. It gives a brief overview of what each thing is/does...kinda and then tells you the acceptable range. Well done on finding/scanning it too

these gauges can do alot of cool things, for example you can have them cycle through 4 sets of parameters on the screen instead of looking at just 2. and you can get sensor for other things such as a wideband. check the manuals Aeroforce Technology Inc | Interceptor Manuals you take the gauge out and see what the model number on the back is, as long as sticker hasnt fallen off
