If you use the aluminum gaskets you could reuse them

I wouldnt reuse GM Al gaskets though.

Felpro steels I might consider reusing. However I have bad blood with coolant, thus I refuse to reuse now.

I reused the ones I put on 2 years ago, doing fine. They'll also go on this L26 swap I have in the garage

felpro is also al. right. i dont think they would make steel gaskets, or am i wrong. And also, what do you think of just sticking with the rubber gaskets? i mean, they lasted 14yrs and i dont plan on haveing the car for another 5 years, so icant justify spending 75 bucks on gaskets.

Then I guess you were one of the lucky ones. After I got my car the stock gaskets were completely blown out and leaking coolant to where I had to top off every day, of course that's at 100K. I'd rather have piece of mind with the aluminum gaskets, but new nonaluminum ones should still last a while.

why not just top swap it while you are doing the lim? It's just a few more bolts to pull the heads off.

So, you're looking at topswapping in a couple months, right? If so I would just do what's bad. Check the lim for leaks, if it doesn't leak, I would leave it. If you're worried about it, replace them with cheap rock auto gaskets for now since you're there anyway, it wouldn't hurt to do them.

And Headers on a topswap for sure.

im not exactly sure if the lim is bad or not. I can see oil running down from the uim, so i may replace that. I am loosing coolant, but found the spot ( think its coming out of the hose that goes from the altbrakcet to the heater core) and ill change coolant elbows again.
