Most mornings my car has problems accelerating when it is cold. It like stutters and almost killed itself the other morning.

its because its not warmed up all the way and still in closed loop, so its already runnin rich and you give it gas and it comes close to flooding and acts like it wants to die,

let it idle till you can tap the gas and the high idle goes away, then drive the car normally. by normal i mean not like a race car.

jumping on any engine when its cold is a bad idea, and good way to break stuff.

i let any engine warm up some, even a lawn mower or a weed whacker.

the oil is also "all" in the pan, aka dry start, cold oil don't pump as well as warm or hot oil does.

be kind to your car and let it idle for at least 2 to 3 minutes in the mornings (longer in the winter) or any time its been sitting for hours and is cold.
