Ok so Brandon and I have been talkin and I kept tellin him my car seems slower than other GTP's. We both took vids to compare and both agree that my car seems slower in second but pulls the same in first gear.

Here's my vid. My car is a 97 and is bone stock down to the paper air filter with 130K. Regular maintenace has been done and I did a pan drop about 10K ago. I don't have any codes etc etc.

Brandon's vid. He has an 03 at 103K and I believe he's had regular maintenance as well, pan drop too. Has an intake but that's it.

    Just looking for other's opinions.
Oh and eff you photobucket for reducing the video quality.

Something to take note of is before I did my pan drop I had the sloppy second gear shift. I can still make it do it if I time it right but it doesn't do it on it's own anymore. I also have the delayed reverse engagement common to the sloppy second gear shift. I've read these are a result of some sleeve or something getting worn and bleeding off pressure. I wonder if this is my problem.

I also broke out a stopwatch and did 45-65 times. Mine tend to be 3.7-3.8 seconds while Brandon's is 3.2-3.3 seconds....roughly half a second quicker

UPDATE/EDIT: Ok so....i've learned that the sloppy second gear shift I have sometimes is also related to the delayed reverse engagement I have. I made a video trying to show this but it's hard to catch it due to not being able to rev very high to really show the lag. I did my best though. Basically I revved to 1500 RPMS and went to reverse. When it drops to 1000 is when it engages. I didn't vary the throttle AT ALL. It was reverse engaging that caused the RPMS to drop.
So here's the video...also ignore when I said "im gonna go straight to netural" or something to that effect..i meant reverse lol.

Now for some more blabbing. I read on wbodystore.com that the sloppy second gear and delayed reverse gear are a result of the boost valve wearing away at the boost sleeve in the trans causing pressure to bleed off thus causing the stumbling and delayed engagement of the gears...linky..

Now for my question...has anybody tried that fix? I may try that in conjunction with a shift kit to see if this will fix my problem. Looking for opinions here as well as personal experience with the boost valve and sleeve kit that wbodystore sells. Not too worried about shift kits ATM but i'll get there.
