What color is the fluid. Is it oily or is it watery?
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Figure out what the fluid is, then we can help pinpoint it better.

    It can only be
    Power steerign fluid
    Trans fluid
    Coolant
    Brake fluid
    Fuel

Anything beyond that..and you got an interestig leak.

The motor mount could be leaking.

There's not enough fluid there to leave decent puddles. Same for the SC oil. I thought about them.

when my oil pressure sensor went bad it leaked right onto where the axle shaft enters the trans, scared the hell out of me when it happened, i thought it was the trans leaking till i looked up and saw the sensor leaking like mad.

He didn't say it was a decent sized puddle. Just that it was leaking. You need to start covering all your bases, Bill. You know better than that.

But to the OP, you mention that the tranny fluid is going getting low. If you have a leak, and you notice that one of your fluids is getting lower, I would put my money there first.

As for not changing the fluid on the tranny, I don't agree with that. If it were me, I would drop the pan and change the filter and replace the fluid that you loose. It will only change out about 50% of the fluid in the tranny and allow the old to mix nicely with the new. The issue comes with an old, beaten, hurt tranny that someone tries to replace all the fluid at once. It is a shock to the transmission and usually not recommended. I would venture that is what your mechanic is talking about.

Zef, I hear ya. Would you buy into me having telepathy? I'll play that card if you guys would buy it. lol Something about the way he said tire and dripping etc made me feel like it was a decent amount. Having zipped into a mount before...I went on gut feeling. I'm also really tired today. Should be doing work...but you know.

The code is because its a high flow cat, so the car thinks its not working correctly. If its a brand new cat you are fine. you just wont be able to see any other engine codes.

If you delete it, it will come back eventually. You have to get the code taken out with a tuner.

Being a 01 its debatable on whether or not the 3800 02 emulator will work. Some say it does some say not. You could try if you have the $60 +shipping. If it doesn't work or if you don't want to try, just scan it off and on to keep on top of the car or get it tuned to turn it off. Someone may be in the surrounding area with a programmer, that would work to turn it off if you can find someone

Find someone with HPT, delete reporting of the emissions related bullshiz, and be done.
