any way the magnasteer could of been affecting my trans? i did the rack on Saturday and yesterday and today, the trans is definitely shifting sooner, under light gas and shifting firmer, and holding what ever gear its in tighter.

its not shifting hard in any way just firmer.

i haven't done a thing to the car other than the rack and pinion. any ideas? or am i crazy?

ps: oh, and i did not un hook the battery while doing the rack, left it hooked up the whole time.

Maybe while you were reconnecting the wiring to the Magnasteer you bumped the electrical connection to the trans? That's all I got. That or you really are crazy, lol... Either way enjoy the new rack and better driving trans.

ahhh, i don't know either, but lets just say if the car you drove every day felt this different, you would notice it too, even feels better when wot and hold it till it shifts, its got no slop any more and shifts a lot firmer.

maybe i had a partial blockage that blew out in the trans, who knows, im glad it feels better one way or another.

perf shift on or off it feels better. really feels better when not in perf shift mode lol, and feels like i have perf shift now when its on.

it may be time for a trans tune up, i've been putting it off because my fluid is burnt up and brown, i was waiting till i can put a new trans in, but with this now maybe ill take the chance and do it now. i just don't want to not have any transmission after im done with a fluid and filter change.

The trick is to keep the transmission. If you throw it out (not part of the GM recommended flush procedure, but a buddy of your might have told you it was a good performance mod), you won't have a transmission anymore.
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

that's why i told you guys i didn't un hook the battery, i know the pcm wasn't reset in any way.

if im certifiable ill just stay this way, the trans still shifts better lol

true that, but why is gas cheaper here than most of the US? i think we are the only state that you cant pump your own gas in.

my brother lives just over the border from jersey to up state NY and he come here for gas, and fights with the attendant every time so he can pump his own gas, hes got a cherry 05 Yukon and don't let any one near it.

in NY you pump or pay a full service fee per gallon. don't make any sense to me.

No, cause I'm 6'2" and 320 lbs and I think I could take him (and then take his truck). After all, he does have a pony tail.

My hair is too short to donate. Good on him though. (I was just kidding about the pony tail.)
