    Hi Guys
If I have placed this question in the wrong place please forgive me. I have a 2005 Grand Prix GTP that was just at a GM dealer The service department informed me that the two front hubs are bad. The driver side had two inches of play and the pass side had at least 1" of play Because of where I work there was no way for me to stop by to see this I asked them to save the parts which they did do. I have some what of a mechcanical back round When I looked at the used hubs I couldn't see tw inches or one inch of play in either hub unless it is the spline that is worn?Does any one have any information about hubs?

i would assume that the center section where the splines are would be real lose.

Its the olny thing that I can see. I'm going to call the service manager tomorrow. There isn't two inches of play in the bearing end of it so that makes me think that where all the play is. The car has 130,000 miles on it

it world be in the bearing unless it got old and broke in the splines,, but your only going to see it when the tire is on it, it wont just sit there and move around in your hand with out any whight on it

Likely the "inches of play" would be seen with the tire on. Because it's the way the tech would first test it.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
