torque is the amount of bolt stretch applied to a fastener.. so always replace used bolts since they've been stretched?

or is it on particular bolts (ie TTY), once it's been torqued it wont return to its normal length?

i torque sh*t all day at work, but i'm in assembly, assembling new parts not reused. never gave it a thought thanks.
Yeah they stretch. You torque them to a certain and then some many degrees extra.
