tap the hole, put a grease fitting in it then press them out with grease.
Im kinda new to the super charger so forgive me for asking were to tap into it? Also I dont know if something got sucked into the rotors or if they were so out of wack that they hit eachother? But they have some scratches on them and on the inside of the case also. Its on an 04 so its not that old. Should I just look for a used replacement for the whole thing?
there are holes in the bottom of the case, if not they need to be drilled.
replacement for that blower will be VERY expensive.
look to reptile for a rebuild.
I work at a performance shop for a friend that does fiber glass and carbon fiber composits, so he knows everyone and everyplace to get things cheaper. He found one for 350 used off an 04. Once I get done paying for my lemon motor that came in my lemon car Ill let you all know what I put into the motor. Fun to build depressing to pay for since i've only had it for two months.
the blower case will have scoring on the inside of the case regardless of what you do. the rotors shouldnt get scratched though. if that is the case you might need new bearings all around.
Im not sure if they are that bad, but as long as its apart with the rest of the motor im going to replace them. The scratches arent that bad but should I try and smooth them down a bit? Or should I leave them alone so I dont take any more of the coating off?
If its a 2004 M90/case = GenV there will not be any holes on the under side to tap, ad press the bearings out of the case with hydraulic pressure/grease gun.
Some earlier and for sure 1996-2003 M90s were GenIII's and had the relief holes already drilled into the bottom of the case we tap and use pressure to remove the case needle bearings.
I fabricated my own tool that removes the bearings from the case through the inside of the case specifically for GenV's since I rebuild enough of these for others anyway.
Not too common though for GenV's to even need to have these bearings in the case touched. I have done several snout rebuilds, for leaky snout seals, and coupler changes on Gen V's. For the most part, these are still new enough, and dont really have the problems that you normally find with a used GenIII M90, even if the GenV had 200K miles + on it...it still rocks hard when bolted up with out doing a thing to it.
Its common on all M90s to see scratching inside the case. Dont do a thing to the rotors, or the inside of the case, dont clean, or do anything and you will be fine.

So is it possible to do the pressure trick at all on the 04 plus? The bearings in the back are completly dry! I just want to make sure that as long as i have it apart that I replace them. All Ive done is clean the inside in the parts washer to get some of the oil deposits out. I have used a tool on a small slide hammer once that expanded at the end, but its been so long I cant remember for sure?
Finally had time to look at my case and still cant figure out a good way to get the bearings out? Its a gen 5 2004. Need to get it done soon because the motor is almost done. Any ideas would be great. There are no holes to do the grease trick
You could drill some holes yourself, but you would be drilling bind not knowing exactly where you are going, or what your going to go through. Not worth it.
That's what I was saying, no holes, the bearings have to come out the same way they are pressed in. Might try your hook and slide hammer trick to remove them. Just don't mess up the case around the bearings, its soft aluminum and will dent easy so be careful.
GenV case needle bearings are not the same size as GenIII case needle bearings so ya know. They look the same, but GenV's are a little bigger/longer.So when you order new ones, make sure you say they are for a GenV so you get the right ones. I believe the GenV's share the same sized bearing as the M112's, but don't quote me on that.

Finally got them out! It was a little crude but got the job done. I used a pencil die grinder and made a line through them then hit it with a hamer and punch to break them. Then just uesd a puller and they came right out! Finally I can move on to a little porting then take the case and lower intake to work and powder coat them! Just not sure what color now? lol I was thinking either clear coat them or sparkle black? The car is white. Just dont want it to look like a ricer when the hood is popped with neon colors and crap every place. Thanks to all the infor guys! It all helps.
Go with white or just clean off your blower and leave it as is.
