Bump for this question as it is a project that I would like to undertake as well. I have a 08, non-GXP. From what I can tell only the GXP's had the fog/turn signal lights. There is a 4 wire plug that includes an un-used purple wire. I assume that the purple wire goes to the fog light control. In my fuse block under the hood, fuse #7 (10 amps) says fog lights, and there should be a wire that interfaces withe the computer to turn the fogs on and off. Which wire is it? I have tried tracking it down with a multimeter, and was only able to disconnect my hi-beams.

Like the OP, I am not really interested in modding, rather would like to use the cars existing wiring to do the job. I know the wires are there, just dont know which ones to use, ore what signal to give them (+12 or ground). Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Jon

while the gxps do have fogs im not looking for that cause to run gxp fogs on my car id prolly have to change wiring and replace the bumper but my year 06 the gts and gtp came with a lense that was part turn signal and part fog light mine is just a 3157 turn sig/park lamp i want the 898 fogs as well im just wondering if i can cut the headlight wire buy the 898 fog connectors new lenses and wire it str8 to my headlamps so when i turn the switch for the head light my fogs will come on to im tryin to do it the easiest way i was just gonna use heat shrink on the wires after i splice the 898 pig tails in place i just need to know b4 i buy the lenses and stuff if that will work

    BUMP

I have a 2008 GT2. Whomever purchased it new must have ordered it custom because the seats are GTP while everything else is GT2. Now, why that person paid extra for that (and upscaled with sunroof and radio) and didn't pay a mere $500 more for the fog/turn lights is beyond me. But, I digress... I'm crying for the fog/turn signal combo. My specific questions is whether or not I will have to replace the steering column or just the stick on it to make it a true factory looking application? If any wiring needs to be changed, exactly what is it to make factory-like?

As far as hard wiring the fogs to come on with the headlamps... BE CAREFUL. Many states, New Jersey included, have laws mandating fogs are OFF when high beams are on.

    Hi Jon,

I almost forgot about this thread, thanks for posting and bringing it back to my attention.

I was able to complete the mod that you are describing, that is to remove the round turn signals that are in the bumper and replace them with combo turn signal / fog lights that came from the factory on the GXP. That part was easy, the wiring is all there, just had to reach for it.

The lever on the column was also not too hard to do. As I recall it just took a couple of screws to pull the old one (without the fog light switch) and put in the new one. Just be REALLY careful pulling the plastic trim panels in on the dash. It is very easy to break the tabs.

I also have the parts to do the job again. (I bought two sets, in case I screwed up.) If you are interested in the turn/fog lights and/or the column switch, shoot me a PM.

    Thanks,
    Jon

P.S. Great name choice - I like to say why have letters that dont have any sounds.
