Alright I know most people have seen or heard of Gp RWD conversions but my ? is anyone know of or seen a gp laid on top of a full hod rod chassis? Frames and full suspensions from hotrods are easy to come by and they would handle great. Im talking some thing like the West Coast Custom car they did with the SRT8 chassis under a old like 68 charger or the latest one I seen where they did a GTO chasis under a late 60's GTO. All of them were amazing. So why front and back half a car when full chassis are easy to get not to mention would be super rigid and handle amazing? Just ideas any one seen anything along these lines?

If you got the money...then why not...I wouldn't put that kind of money into a GP...no way.

Just ideas and tired of making car payments this ride will be my DD for a long time. I was just flipping through a HodRod magazine and was suprised how cheap full frame chassis are Im sure it would be easy to find one for a GP. And I love sleepers! Ive alway thought If I did a gtp again it would be with a SE body kit lol Not to mention going to school to fix radar equipment electronics dont intimidate me any more. All Ive done for the last 9 months is work on electrical circuits and equipment.

if you think that a grand prix is a good looking car compared to some other choices you have when doing a completely custom project then youre high.

Lol, I'd like to know how you'd think that'd even come close to working.

Lol Bio havnt we gone down this road once before? I've seen people to k members and back halves but why not just use a full chassis? Would make mounting engine trans and rear end a ton easier. As for how would it work? Maybe you should look at some RWD conversions on google for GP's yes they have been done an no they arent cheap so your point was? Maybe you think putting an ls4 from a gxp FWD setup would be "impossible" too.... OH wait thats been done too and so have the RWD conversions.

Oh wowz reely!? I never knew that anyoone had done a RWD conversion or a LS431!1 swap before. Because I sure haven't been in the Grand Prix community for ten years.

Surprise surprise though, none of them have just 'laid' a Grand Prix body on a 'hot rod' frame. I wonder why that is.....

Sounds so simple hm? Shows how much thought you actually put in to things.

Screw it, why not just take your uni-body Grand Prix and weld it straight onto the frame for something similar to this.

Because thats about the most awesome thing I can imagine. That thing would out handle any STi or Evo. Or you can just cut strips of your floorpan out so the frame of your POS car takes up all the room where your feet go. Thats okay though, who needs leg room?

Alright comparing a RWD converted car to an sti or an evo is retarded, 2nd of all if doing a full chassis Id run the rails as close to the doors as possible more like a cage then right down the middle obviously, 3rd hmm 10 years of being on a GP forum you seem pretty ignorant.

Have no idea what you pointing out besides bashing what we BOTH said was already done. RWD conversions Check LS4 swap Check. maybe you need some schooling considering I myself have a diesel certificate, have been working on nothing but electronic radar equipment for the last 9 months and yeah I can weld aluminum and run a plasma cutter so if you think for a second I dont have the capacity to do a conversion you my friend are way out in left field. The limiting factor here is as always money. Oh and if you wanna see some killer conversions check out ls1tech.com and look in the conversions forum maybe you'd learn a thing or 2

The guy I just bought my 3100 from does RWD conversions all the time. He does dirt track races. He takes a '80s Monte Carlo, takes the race-wrecked body off, and puts a clean '94-99 body on the chassis.

When I went over there yesterday to pick up my motor, I noticed this '95 Monte sitting on a trailer. The closer I looked at it, the more I realized that the engine was sitting longways not sideways. This guy says he does this to all his race cars because the '80 Monte bodies are getting too rare.

What you could do is take a '80s Monte Carlo/Cutlass/Grand Prix, take the body off, and put the body of your GP on it. It might take a little trimming of the fenders, but it would look cool!

How about an s-10 frame? Its small and about the same size as the car its self. i know it may sound noob and dumb but I have herd the s-10 frame being used in alot of custome rides. Im sure you could find a decent frame from a j/y that isnt fubr and pull the cab and bed off if it isnt done already. I just see alot of cars that are out of this world and if these ppl put that kind of money into there ride Id assume anything is possible..

Yep, ppl do use s-10 frames. My lil bro used one to build a RatRod.
