that's what it was looking like from all the threads I was reading. Ya my ses light is on. I'm gonna take it in to autozone tonight, if it starts, and gets the codes.
If you need a new MAF consider NAPA. Lifetime warranty with receipt. My last Autozone MAF lasted one year. ALL MAF's from these parts stores are re-builds (that's why they want your core) so having it last only a year wasn't surprising. But if You can get the same part for roughly the same price with a lifetime warranty...![]()
Took it to autozone and the only code that came up was the ox censor. Guy there had the same problem and it was his fuel pump. And now my car won't start again. Any reason why anyone thinks it wouldn't be the fuel pump?
A trouble code won't come up for a failed maf. Unplug the maf and see if it changes anything.
As far as fuel pump can you hear it come on/off when you turn the key, especially after the car dies? Next time it dies, leave the key forward, pop the hood and take the plastic cap off the fuel rail and depress the valve in there to see if fuel comes out.
Also it should not only come out but come out with some pressure. My car was doing the same thing and the fuel pump was only working part of the time. I didn't think it could be the fuel pump because I could hear it whining but it turns out it wasn't working well enough to maintain pressure. And by the way it is also a 2000.
its the maf. I unplugged it. my car started. plugged it back in and then 5 seconds later my car died. Thanks a lot for the help!!!
