I have a problem with the car "missing" on hard accel. This happened about a year ago after I had the heads rebuilt (bad valve guides). I was driving it pretty hard, the cat converter failed probably due to the excess oil from the valve guides. I cleaned all the debris from the cat out as well as the rest of the exhaust. I'm wondering if the back pressure from the converter caused a gasket blow out. The car drives fine driving normally but if you get after it anything above 4000 rpm the engine misses, if you back off it drives fine. No engine light or other signs of major problems. The car has TOG headers and borla exhaust. Aftermarket ECM, cam, heads, accel coil packs. I haven't taken it in because I haven't driven it due to financial problems. I need to install a half shaft cv axle on the pass. side and change fluids before she's ready to take to the road. Anyone who has any thoughts please post. I'd rather not take it to a shop right now as money is tight.
