that car is slow by the standards of drag racing. my fathers home grown drag bike would leave it in the dust, 7.80s at 180mph+. THAT is fast.

All of the runs that have been made by the TTGT, including the 8.65, were on a totally stock bottom end. When they blew the heads at Pinks All Out last fall, they pulled it out and were building it up, but just for lighter parts. They claim they never found the limits of the stock bottom end.

No offense but once your in the 10's, that is fast. The bike comparison is apples to oranges.

Yeah...10s is pretty damn quick IMO. I'm not 100% sure everything that was done to it, rods I'm pretty sure weren't stock, crank I'm not sure.

It's from Matt M himself. If you can find the Pinks post on ClubGP, you can get it straight from him.

only thing is, are they hiding forged parts in the motor??? but i dought it. they really have no need to.

I would be surprised. ZZP is sponsoring that car, and they sell forged internals. If they were in there, you'd think they would advertise it.

i agree its apples to oranges, but if i were to make a full out drag car id be pretty disappointed with mid 8s. yes, they are using a v6 and the car is FWD so there is some merit there, but i just think when people say an 8 second car is fast that they just havent seen any of the other cars out there. growing up at the track i got to see a lot of cool stuff. if your car runs mid 8s, even in the IHRA, youre one of the slower guys.

depends on the class. I haven't been to the drag races for a few years, but the last time I went a turbo nova was putting on a show. I believe he was in the 7's ans that wasn't even doing full runs. he was prepping for the nitrous wars on a friday night open track day. 8 seconds in a FWD car is impressive, anything under 10 in my eyes is an accomplishment. I know what it takes to get into those time brackets.
