i dident really put that together well, that is with there twin turbo stock gt bottom end motor in a gutted, tubed grand prix.
and i was off on the hp, i think its a stock bottom end....

Over 600hp... if its a stock bottom end then thats crazy......
No he had ported heads, forged pistons, cammed, etc. It was built.
Nevermined then LOL
heads and cam would not classify as bottom end, forged pistions on the other hand tho...
what about the rods and crank??
that car is slow by the standards of drag racing. my fathers home grown drag bike would leave it in the dust, 7.80s at 180mph+. THAT is fast.
All of the runs that have been made by the TTGT, including the 8.65, were on a totally stock bottom end. When they blew the heads at Pinks All Out last fall, they pulled it out and were building it up, but just for lighter parts. They claim they never found the limits of the stock bottom end.
top fuel is fast...
Yeah...10s is pretty damn quick IMO. I'm not 100% sure everything that was done to it, rods I'm pretty sure weren't stock, crank I'm not sure.
sweet, good info.
only thing is, are they hiding forged parts in the motor??? but i dought it. they really have no need to.
I would be surprised. ZZP is sponsoring that car, and they sell forged internals. If they were in there, you'd think they would advertise it.
very true.
i agree its apples to oranges, but if i were to make a full out drag car id be pretty disappointed with mid 8s. yes, they are using a v6 and the car is FWD so there is some merit there, but i just think when people say an 8 second car is fast that they just havent seen any of the other cars out there. growing up at the track i got to see a lot of cool stuff. if your car runs mid 8s, even in the IHRA, youre one of the slower guys.
depends on the class. I haven't been to the drag races for a few years, but the last time I went a turbo nova was putting on a show. I believe he was in the 7's ans that wasn't even doing full runs. he was prepping for the nitrous wars on a friday night open track day. 8 seconds in a FWD car is impressive, anything under 10 in my eyes is an accomplishment. I know what it takes to get into those time brackets.
i hope to have my SRT-4 in the HIGH 10's before summer ends :-)
