A simple tool i use to help tilt the engine forward in my gp (shoot, should work for more than that, depending on the engine mount configuration) I use a ratchet strap from the engine lift point to a heavy duty bracket on the front wall of my garage. I've tried to use the ratchet strap from the engine bracket to the radiator core support, but find that it is a bit too close for the ratchet straps i have.

YMMV, you may be able to use the core support.

a friend of mine that works at a dealer had some nice pics of a car they used the core support, and the weight of the engine against it bent it (really good since it was warranty work being done doh)

All I did was undo the front dog bones and have someone rock the car and when the motor is in the right orientation you hit the e-brake.

dose the E-brake hold the motor in place?
also my brothers friends are mechanics and they told me that there is a tool the you put in place of the dog bones and you crank it one way to pull the motor to the front and crank it the other way to push it back

With all four wheels on the ground, you unhook the dogbones. This allows the engine to move some. Then push the car a little. The force from the front wheels will push the engine back and forth. Just push the car until the engine tilts forward. Then set the e-brake so the car will stay in the exact same spot. As long as all four wheels are on the ground with the e-brake set, the engine will stay in the same spot.

Yes, because the engine tilted forward when the front wheels rolled forward while you rocked it. The e-brake holds the car still, so it keeps the front wheels from moving and the engine from returning to its original position. To move it back, release the e-brake and the tension in the lower mounts will move it back to approximately where it should be.

I've used racheting straps before. Works good

I usually just undo/remove the drivers side torque strut, replace stud/nut on engine bracket, undo passenger side torque strut by the coil packs, i use a long pry bar and insert it on the drivers side engine mount between the mount and stud, pull it towards me, and use the single top stud hole by the coil packs and insert the stud through the bracket and torque strut. Works great for me too. I've done this many times too.
