I need any advice on my 2006 grand prix, when my engine is cold and up to the first 3 miles I have a weird sound that sounds like an electric motor whenever I press the gas peddle, any clues or sugguestions to what this might be

thanks, ill look into it
looked into the etb and its on the wrong side of the engine for the sound i had the belt and water pullie replaced and the noise hasent ceased
Probably the power steering pump. Is it good on fluid?
Its got plenty of fluid, it only makes a noise when the gas is applied evin when driving in a strait line, i havent had any problems with the stearing,
Sabre might be on to something with the PS pump. They can make noise even when not turning and with little to no noticeable function change. (Fords do it coming new from the factory!) Water pumps could make noises like that as well (you said you replaced the water pulley?????) not sure what that means. I supposed the S/C could possibly make that noise too if the bearings are bad.
My PS pump makes a slight whining noise and it's fine. Has for years. Volume depends on temperature.
It does get quiet when it gets warm but its so loud that it makes me wonder if somethings wrong, ill have to get it swapped out to be shure
