02 gp gt. I live in Michigan (SALT) 200k on the car.
The body on this thing is damn near immaculate body wise, or so I thought.
Upon crawling around on the ground looking around at the rear suspension, I noticed I have some pretty intense surface rust around the trailing arm brackets and knuckles. It's enough rust that turned the whole knuckle brown and it appears that there's old black paint or flakes/remnants of it, most likely the factory coating.
There's a little surface rust on some parts of the undercarriage, but those areas seem the worst.
So is there a way I can fix this rust or at least slow it down? Can I use a wire wheel and get all the rust off of the knuckle/mount area and maybe spray something on the area? Some kind of coating or rust stopper?
