Unlikely that the motor went. Way more common for the regulator to fail. Either way, the door panel is going to have to come off. Look to see if the cable is still in tact. Have someone hit the switch while you listen at the door. You should be able to hear the motor.

1.) If the cable is off track and you can hear the motor, just replace the regulator.
2.) If the cable is in tact and you don't hear the motor, you need a motor (duh). If that's the case, it would be wise to replace the entire assembly. Motor and regulator.

As for getting the window up... Like I said, the panel has to come off. Assuming it's just a regulator, you can cut the cable, and push it up by hand. Clamp/vise grip the window channel to the regulator guide. Carefully.

Don't rule out a switch being the culprit, although the regulators and motors are common failing parts on these cars. Pop the panel off the door and have a look at the assembly. Chances are the regulator cables are broken... once you get the window back up you can wedge something in the window track to keep the window up until you get replacement parts.

Newbie here. I have an 04 Grand Prix GT and replaced pass. side rear regulator and motor a few years back. Now the other side rear needs work. The plastic guides on the regulator are easily broken. As for good news the rear door panels pretty easy to snap off and on. I watched a UTube video before i did the 1st one. Reg. and motor assay. come out easy too. Cost in my area about 105.00.
