Replaced the leaky headlight on the minivan. Found one in real decent shape at the pick a part, which is very rare out here. Usually they're super UV baked.

Did a transmission pan drop, new filter. Also put in a transgo shift kit. Shouldn't there be quicker (little more of a jerk) in the shifts now because it feels the same as before the shift kit was installed?

You could unhook the battery to "reset" the pcm or use a scanner to reset the TAPs inside the computer. It will relearn how you drive from there.

But in reality, the shifts only got quicker by a small amount. A goood scanner or tuning tool could tell you raw data of how quick the shifts are. WOT shifts you might notice it??

I couldnt tell that much but I also tuned my car and made the shifts 15-20% quicker and added 10% line pressure to gain that "feel".

Alright I'll test that out. Also, when you mentioned in your write up to use scotch brite so that the pistons don't chatter in the cylinders of the accumulator; I noticed that when I was putting the pistons back in after brushing it with the scotch brite it seemed like it wanted to chatter sliding it in. Was it like that for you?

I finally hooked up the sending units for my gauges. Now I have oil pressure and trans temp. Engine has some good oil pressure, lol:

Sender in the top of the transmission is actually pretty close to Torque Pro. it was within 10*F even after sitting in the drive thru line for 20+minutes, lol. Once I got home I finally through this together:

Why? Because your rockers are toasty? LOL

I myself have used the pinch welds to jack several different cars up over the years and have never had an issue.

The jack looks farther forward than it really is. not really anywhere else back there to jack it up from.

My jack is too big for that, lol. I need to redo the exhaust though, then I might be able to.

took the top off my na engine.

kyle must have been running 87 or real cheap gas, them piston tops were caked with carbon. if my hands were cleaner id have taken a pic. i really thought piston #1 was shot for a second lol

hit the piston tops with a wire wheel, as well as the rest of the block. some brake cleaner and ill be priming it up.

also got the dreaded balancer bolt broken free. i had a 4 foot pipe wedged in the back of the engine to the stand, then i took a breaker bar and a pipe to the bolt. it had no fight, came right off.

Drove it and got some ice cream. Used the forklift to move the built trans to a storage spot in the garage. it's a nice setup!
