Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
Got lucky on my way home, there was a bad accident that blocked every lane Eastbound on i-94, which means that all the surface streets in the whole area are packed(which my dad got to drive in). So I got to take the freeway which was totally empty, and got home in record time. Of course all the people that got on before won't get home for a while

Completely blocked off. The entrance ramp I'm on can go through.

Ouch.
What kind of car is it?

I remember when they were rebuilding the s-curve on 131. I was taking night classes at GRCC. Whatever entrance ramp I used was the first one after the construction zone. That was a fun couple of weeks.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
Absolutely nothing. I did redo the downpipe sections before I left. I blew one side of it off last time I drove. Used a crap ton of rtv and tightened bandclamps till my tendonitis flared lol. So it will sit and cure for 7 days. Hoping this is the last of my exhaust leaks.
Spent the morning fishing. Caught some kind of ocean cat and a Spanish mackerel. Hoping for some reds or anything big enough to keep and eat. First time fishing ocean waters, it is so easy for my imagination to get away from me lol. I hear snook is really good eating but its out of season :( Anyone have any bait tips for fishing on docks? Just been using shrimp and trying my freshwater gear.
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
Almost lost it for good.
I was leaving the mall and going down what we call Restaurant Road, due to all the fast food places. Thankfully I am one of those people who are costantly scanning the road ahead of me because I see this stupid b!tch coming out of the Burger King parking lot with no intention of stopping. She was probably doing 40 mph in the parking lot to exit. I looked in the rear view and thankfully had a clearing to do a quick lane change because she didn't stop until her entire front end was in the road.

fresh bait is the best. Whitefish if you can find it. Seriously the fresher the better.
I just went shark fishing off a pier in charleston sc two weeks ago. With fresh whitefish we caught 13 in 3 hours. The other 8 or 10 people near us on the dock only brought in like 2 combined. Fresh bait is the key!
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
live bait is always best.
i used to own a boat. once you fish off the boat fishing from shore just aint no fun any more.
i had a live well and a battery operated air rater to keep em alive. the boat had a tank, but it was square, so when i went for herring i got a old plastic pickle barrel, cut it down to like 30 gallons. made a ply wood top with the edge routered out so it sat nice on the barrel, then cut a door in the top, clipped a nice 12 inch net to the top as well.
put a fresh water intake port at the bottom, and then two hoses to let water back out. used the fresh water hose on my boat to fill and keep fresh water flowing. also had the air rater in there. never lost any herring in the pickle barrel.
we used to jig for em with nothing more then a small gold hook, talk about dumb fish lol thats why they be bait fish i guess.
if you find herring are being used find a round bucket for them cause they like to swim into the corners of a square tank and die. they need air in the bucket too, or they die fast, keep em out of the sun too.
tight lines........wish i was there.
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
Well, after a brake job, and some minor bedding, I seemed to have fractured my Forward Apply Band on my TEP trans. Yay for solving one problem and creating another.
Anyone have a price point for a replacement? I talked to TEP and they staid that is a labor intensive job as the Band is deep, very deep in the tranny.

UNLESS you have an unbalanced grandfather in a like 10ft flat bottom boat that if you pucker your ass it unstable lol.
Last time we went out in it he got wet and was a very unhappy camper lol.
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
i had a real boat lol
i did start out with a 14 foot 60's fabuglass with a 40 horse johnson on the back.
up graded to a 24 foot baha cruiser with a cuddy cabin.
looked pretty much like this. i had it out in 30 foot seas 10 miles off shore, no fun. it took 4 chop rather well once you got up to speed and could dance on top of the chop. it topped out at 45 mpg on smooth water. had a 305 merc i/o.

i went to the boat show, it had to hold 4 adults or it was not gonna happen. i liked to just take 2 others with me fishing tho. just for the extra room really, you know coolers take up space fast. i/o has a square hatch taking up the rear middle. its a table really lol
then there was macys fireworks in the river, now thats a great show from the water. id take up to 8 tops with me to that show.
i got my moneys worth out of it. it went out sat and sunday every weekend it was nice out for like 10 years. sat was fishing day with the guys. sundays was anchor off in the cove up river and drink all day with 300 other boats.
it even got washed after every trip, and the engine flushed after i got it home too. trailer city for me. a slip costs to much.
the job i used to have was national, id have guys travel here to help out with work when i got over loaded. if i liked them id tell them how to book the hours for sat so they could come out fishing. most were not from a state any where near a ocean and they all jumped at the chance to go. had some damn good times on that boat.
the one guy from CA he fished all the time back home. when ever they asked for some one to travel to NY he jumped up and said ill go!!! cause we got along pretty good and i took him fishing at least 4 times lol
