Good idea. Can you tell me what size cap bolts you used? Looks like some lock washers as well.

The socket bolts were Stainless M4 - .70 x 12 mm
The washers were Stainless #8 split lock washers.
I got mine at fastenal, the socket bolts you could get a 5 pack or 50 pack. The washers were 100 pack. The 5 pack was like 3 or 4$ the 50 was like 13. Washers were maybe 3.

Thanks. Those safety torx on the MAF are a pain in the ass.
In the past two weeks;
All four struts - Monroe Quick Struts
Driver and passenger ball joint
Both front wheel hub assemblies
Both CV axles
Both front outer tie rods

I did what Scott suggested, used a hack saw and cut slits in them and now I can use a flat blade screw driver.
I just bought a nice set of safety bits with a holder and threw it in my toolbox, lol.

I had to dremel slots in the carb adjustment for the chainsaw because it has some dumb special slotted tool you are supposed to use.
I have the security bits but, these are just purdy.
Got this as a gift. Should I install or sell?

I returned a Pioneer headunit and all the wiring back to Amazon today. I figured out what was wrong with my stock headunit, a poorly connected circuit that I made years ago when I installed a tape deck for an auxiliary input.
This car is falling apart. I want to spend as little as possible to keep it going.
My supercharger belt that is slipping a rib. The supercharger belt tensioner is all wobbly so I am replacing that and the smooth idler while I'm at it. Parts are on the way. I also need to replace my steering rack. It's leaking power steering fluid like a sieve. Giant stain in my driveway.
I read a thread today about another member who's forward band burned up in his transmission and rebuild costs average $1500-$3500. If that ever happens to me I will scrap the car. It's probably not worth more than $2k right now anyway.
Looks like 2010-2012 Fusion Sports are in the $12k range with 50k miles. That would be a nice daily. I have another car payment right now (wife's car), so used is the only way I can go. Otherwise, would definitely like a '15 Buick Regal GS.
the cam spins the distributor, then theres a rod from the oil pump that sets in the bottom of the distributor and thats how the oil pump works.
then you turn the distributor to retard or advance the timing using a timing light and the marks on a tab and the balancer.
old school parts for the grape ape. :th_thumbsup-wink:
Thx Scotty

Ha ha ha I'm cracking up. :th_laugh-pointup:
Yeah thats a new MSD distributor for Grape. Serves the function of an ICM and crank sensor and other things on a 3800. I was just out driving around in it while the conversation was going on lol. It has an HEI and runs nice now, so stick that in your pipe and smoke it then help me with my question!
I could use a new balancer. They must be torqued to 160 or the balancer snout may frag into the oil pan, so changing them is sorta a pain.
I bought it 26 gallons of 93 for $37. I had $1.42 off fuel so I emptied my mower gas can, then I dumped some junk gas I had in another can into a different container, then went to the gas station and squeezed as much as I could into the car and into both cans so I can fill it again next week and cost nothing at that point.
