I didn't say it was that hard, but the fact of the matter is if they would have used an ounce of common sense a water pump swap would be a 20 minute job start to finish.
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
Cruze got taken in today for smells of burning coolant (again).

No sh!t. Seen WAY worse. Try working on a T-Bird SC....similar to working on an Audi. LOL

Andd they diagnosed it being a dirty cabin filter. Since when do dirty cabin filters smell like burning coolant....

When they get soaked with burnt coolant. Tell them to find the problem.
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
LOL i spent 4 seconds under hood and might have just found the problem. Under the TB is covered in what looks like coolant or oil, then one of the heater hoses is covered in a sticky substance which im guessing is coolant. Along with wet trails from coolant down the trans and back of the motor...
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
I also sniffed the cabin filter, guess what doesn't smell like coolant lol....
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
replaced the old sway bar, it broke on one end. Had to remove the tie rod will this need a alignment? replaced it with a heavy duty sway bar, and heavy duty linkage. The new bar was 3x as heavy as the old oem one.
Also, trying to install a o2 sensor, first thread on the downpipe is stripped, does this have to be retapped? I stripped the old one trying to get it back in, and the first thread is starting to get stripped on the threads on the downpipe

If they couldn't find what you did, then they shouldn't be in business. "Hey look, a big puddle and stains of coolant. Ah, it's normal." For real, anything wet in an engine is something to note and look for. If it took you 4 seconds to find this and they couldn't find it, God help them.

The old ones are hollow. You bought a full, solid one.

I mean there isnt puddles but there is obvious signs of coolant drips down the motor. They did do the water pump on warranty and it seems to not be leaking unless they didn't bother to clean anything and I'm still smelling it months later.
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
That is a good reason as why I started doing my own work (other than a few things lol). Because I know what got done and in what fashion. I understand if you need this done quickly or just want a "professional" doing it. But I wouldn't go there anymore. Maybe they thought it was from the W/P?
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
No idea they never mentioned anything to my grandparents. The car only has 33k on it only reason it goes to dealership is because of warranty. I'm probably gonna grab some brake clean and clean everything and see if i can pinpoint it more

My bad, I was under the assumption that it was your GP, not your grandparents car. It's the Cruze then?

I "cleaned" my throttle body. It was enough to get rid of the sticking in my gas pedal.
