gasket goes under the thermostat housing, its held on with two 10 mm bolts. you'll want to scrap both sides clean with a razor to clean it of any old gasket, then bolt the new gasket in after your done flushing it, then put the t stat back in, new gasket, and the housing back on top. the bleeder valve is on top of the t stat housing. its a screw in the top. you cant miss it.

No, not retarded, just not experienced. Like Scotty said take a look around here for how-to's and on YouTube. These cars are some of the most easiest to work on for the most part. Count yourself lucky that you didn't get a 'Stang with the 4.6L or an F-body (Camaro or Firebird) with the LT1/LS1 V8 in it. Just changing the plugs and wires on the LT1 Firebird made me expand my curse word vocabulary, lol...

id like to do my own work on my car but I'm afraid of messing something up. like if i take off my throttle body something is bound to go wrong. just an example

go watch some vids. its just nuts and bolts after all. nothing to break really either.
i did a ignition harness for a member, i had like 5 or 6 small piles of little bolts on the floor, hes like how you know where those all go back? lol i took em out, thats how.

ok question. I'm looking to clean my throttle body and maf sensor. well the genius car designers put the maf behind the throttle body so how do i clean the maf. take it out? or spray past the throttle body. the screws that hold it in are those weird ones. i saw you can use a pliers

take out the MAF and spray with only MAF cleaner and use throttle body cleaner for the TB obviously

Those security torx bit you can buy sets at hardware stores for like 5 bucks or so, they come in handy more than you think. I'd pickup a set so you can remove the MAF.

or cut a slot across the heads of the bolts with a hacksaw and use a flat head screw driver

they are cheap, but the hacksaw does the trick. its how mine is. f that tool.

And get a new throttle body gasket if you remove the entire TB to clean it (which is the best way to clean it). If the bolts seem to be seized up, spray some PB Blaster on them and let it sit then give it another try.
If you want to work on your own car then grab a manual, ask questions, google search and give it a go. Don't be afraid to mess something up. It happens. Yea, I know it can be expensive if something else breaks but the only way to learn is to do it. The more knowledge you have going in the better off you are. I've been working on cars since my Dad started teaching me at 7, and 30 years later I've only lost 1 motor due to something directly related to me working on it (FYI- pistons do NOT like small bolts being placed down the intake runners, lol...). Was a rookie mistake that shouldn't have happened, but sh*t happens and you move on. Not a bad record for all those years. $400 later I was back up and running with a new-to-me motor
On the security torx, trying the save the guy some $ so he can make his GP better. $5 is $5. Using a hacksaw or dremel tool to slot the security bolts on the MAF isn't that bad and you can use the money you saved from buying the bits to get you a new TB gasket and the proper cans of MAF and TB cleaner (they aren't the same and don't use anything but MAF cleaner on the MAF). Unless it's something you have a need for more than just once a year then why bother? He could add it to his next xmas or birthday list and get it for free!
