    You could try flushing it out with diesel, turn it over slowly by hand to clean out the bearings, then drain the diesel. Put in fresh oil, turn it over by hand to prime the bearings with oil and then see if it will start. But with a failure this bad who knows what shape the bottom end is in

    Mine went through something almost as bad. Except I had also hydrolocked mine twice. It was also making noises like if it threw a rod.

    But here she is, 25k miles later.

    Had that been a Saab engine, it would've died from rod knock. 3800s are quiet amazing.
