My truck in 2 wheel with give or take 150lbs centered in bed. It gets around better than my car did.

i would snow plow in 2 wheel drive up to 4 inches. still got around better then most trucks, cars had no chance of keeping up with me. damn truck was rather unstoppable.

So many people should not have licenses based on this.

Quite frankly, the licensing system sucks.

It doesn't train drivers to be good drivers. Just to know the basic rules of the road, then forget them.

As for my thoughts on ABS and the like, check the last 3 threads on the topic which I'm sure the same people have all posted in.

My only update is, I have electronic brake proportioning now. That system requires a functioning ABS system. It has yet to let me slide through an intersection.

Quality of the ABS system plays a big role here as well.

I agree - if you can't control a car on ice and snow, you shouldn't be driving. All I'm saying is that I've never had issues with my car and the ABS system kicking in. The 2 times it's kicked in on mine were on black ice conditions, and the car stayed arrow straight on the road instead of going into a braking skid and dumping me into the ditch, and stopped the car maybe 10 feet farther than what it would have if it were dry. Granted, when it's snowy/icy, I drive much more slowly, and kinda coast into stop lights/signs to avoid the brake pedal as much as possible, but still - I've never had issues controlling my car.

I've never went sideways due to lack of ABS. The only people that do are morons that don't know how to drive.

I'm contemplating disabling my ABS based upon when we had an inch on the ground I was going 20ish and slid through a 4 way stop, but when I brake enough not to enable ABS it stopps better. But I also I think have mostly summer tires on my car khumo 7 ecsta 4x on the from and Bridgestone potenzas on the back I think are the brands

So if you can control your car, might as well disable ABS if you REALLY know how to drive. That way you won't stop way too late from abs, and you wont go sideways since we know how to drive.

Also my reason for disabling ABS wasn't because of not knowing how to drive(it rarely activates for me), it was how it responds in icy situations, and how it isn't the best approach.

Alaska is badass. I spent 3 weeks up there one July. Went exploring Mendenhall Glacier. Some of the crevices in the glacier were so deep you couldn't see the bottom. 20 hours of daylight sucks as much as 20 hours of dark though.
