The 2 times it's kicked in on mine were on black ice conditions, and the car stayed arrow straight on the road instead of going into a braking skid and dumping me into the ditch, and stopped the car maybe 10 feet farther than what it would have if it were dry. Granted, when it's snowy/icy, I drive much more slowly, and kinda coast into stop lights/signs to avoid the brake pedal as much as possible, but still - I've never had issues controlling my car.
I've never went sideways due to lack of ABS. The only people that do are morons that don't know how to drive.
