    also little problems means the price will need to come down.

    The 60e works fine at stock power levels... The hbodies in 96 had 60e's and worked fine in a heavier car even.

    There is no complication to doing a top swap on a 97 either.

    depends on your mechanical knowhow. if it feels like a bad deal then it probably is.

    alright, any specific things to look out for? besides the obvious tranny slip, motor knock, etc.

    IMO you should go check out that red GTP too. Lower mileage doesn't always mean better condition. I've seen 200,000 mile GTP's that were cleaner and had less rust than 80,000 mile ones. The only thing you really need to worry about in a higher mileage car is worn out engine parts. But parts are cheap for GP's. I'd rather have to replace some engine parts on a high mileage but clean body car, than have a solid low mile motor in a rusted out POS. At least from the pictures I can see, the red GTP looks very well taken care of for 150,000 miles.
