Ok, finally got the engine swap done and everything is fine but we have a few issues.

Engine swap was a 99 gtp engine and trans going into a 98 gt shell

First the temperature gauge isn't working. Not moving or anything. We bled the system and coolant is full.

Second issue is the temp light comes on when the car is put in anything other that park. I was monitoring coolant temps with my torque app and coolant temp only reached 183. After further inspection the connector on the other side of the cluster has a wire that was torn but reconnected. Could that have an affect?

Third issue, the shifter won't shift without using the shift release lock. Thought that was weird. Any ideas? I'll be searching the forums to find out any info as well.

    Thanks guys.

Ok after further inspection I noticed two connectors on the passenger side of the engine by the battery. Kinda close where my old overflow bottle used to be. I can get pics when I get off but does anyone have any idea what it could be?

Shift interlock shouldn't have been effected unless it can't see your foot on the brake. The coolant is either the sensor, wiring to it or something I've enver seen.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

This might be a crazy thought, but you might have a couple wire connectors switched around. I think one that goes to the throttle body kind of looks like one that goes to the temp sensor.

I could be completely off on that, but it might be worth a look, or second opinion from billboost.

The second pic, does that harness have slack?

Here's what I was thinking of,

    Intake air temp

Which part of your exhaust isn't hooked up? You should be fine without the supercharger belt on as long as you take it easy and don't jump on it.

Yes the harness has slack I'm going to go back and check in a second. The part of the exhaust that is not hooked up is where the downpipe meets the rear manifold. We had lost the bolts during the transfer and I'm going to hit a shop to have to put on right quick

Any other ideas? And of course my oil light just came on smh and i have oil in my car. The temp readings are showing on my torque app so is there a separate sensor for the dash?

That fast I found the connectors. Apparently on the driver's side the same Connectors Are there and hooked up. So my question is, where did the extra connections come from

They are back kinda by the battery in the same harness as the window washer pump right? From what I have been told those are for the digital climate control.

That 4 plug harness looks like the one that should be on the front side of the engine between the fuel rail/front valve cover. The second plug looks like the coolant temp sensor plug. Are you sure you have your wiring harness laid out correctly?

As far as the shift interlock issue, I had the exact same issue when I switched my engine (among other issues too) and it turned out to be the two small ground wires coming from the starter harness. Make sure those two wires are bolted up to the bell housing stud where the large ground strap connects to - should be a 18mm nut on the stud, then a 15mm nut to hold the wires in place. Also, make sure the wires and the stud/bell housing are clean and shiny - when hooking up electrical wires remember this: clean and bright, nice and tight.

    Hope that helps!
