bought a 2006 Grand Prix. Great, love the car but severely annoyed by speaker noise. Have investigated this thoroughly and had found several suspects. Coming from the steering wheel air bag coil?? noise does go away when you move the tilt steering wheel. Replacement of the radio?? Pinched wire in the speaker?? What i thought i would do would be to unhook the steering wheel controls from the deck and see if that eliminated the noise. after looking at the deck there was no special plug just for steering wheel controls, but what i did find was two plug in terminals and when i unplugged the second smaller plug the noise went away. I am assuming this plug is for a amplifier? it is a monsoon. unplugging this seems to have no effect on anything that i could tell. My wife is driving the car and so far no noise. It has disappeared for several days in the past so i am not celebrating yet. does any one have any information they could share? what is the smaller plug for?
