I need to know if a 15" steel rim from a 95 Bonneville will fit properly on my 00 GT. Reason being is I just found a pinhole leak in the nylon fuel line on the Bonneville, and the GP has been out of service due to a bad vibration somewhere (gets worse the faster you go, suspect a tire). Now that I cannot drive the Bonne I need to force the GP back onto the road so I can get to work tomorrow and have no time to get another set of 16" tires (if that is even the issue). If the 15's will work I want to swap the 2 fronts w/ the bonne wheels and see if this cures my vibration issue.

And no, I won't leave it this way, and yes, I know my speedo will be off. The main point here is that I NEED a car for work tomorrow.

If you swap both and do not have an aftermarket brake setup it will work.

Thanks FFDP. I have stock brakes on the GP. I just got one of the steelies on the GP as a test fit. It is def. tight clearance to the caliper, but does indeed fit as you stated. I just hope this solves the issue. I hate tracking down vibrations in FWD. Tires= easy fix. Something else- not so easy.

Well, just got them swapped and took it for a test drive. It appears to have made NO difference in the vibration/hopping feeling that I get under acceleration and any speed above 50. It seems to get worse when accel. and then subsides a bit when I let off and coast. The only other thing I can think of now is that I have a CV axle going bad. Neither of them have any torn boots or are leaking, but I did notice that I could get a bit of play on the pass side when I grab the half shaft and push down. Get a bit of a clunk from the inner joint. Could this be causing this horrible vibration/hop?

I guess I'll get it on jackstands and see if the thing wobbles under accel. Kinda running out of ideas here.

Well, got the new pass. side axle in and took it for a drive. No more vibrations (well, no more than before) and runs smooth under accel and all the way up to 85. Thanks for the quick replies on this. Now I can get to work in the am.

Once I got the old one out it was apparent that the inner was shot. Just flopped around and clunked when I shook it. The new one was nice a tight.
