Really weird thing going on with the air/heat. When the dail is turned all the way off the air blows depending on my speed. When I'm stopped it doesn't blow at all... But if I get on the road going 55-65 it blows some air... And then if I'm on the highway going 70-85 it blows hard. Like it gets really annoying. Then when I slow down again it stops. It doesn't matter if it cold or hot. Face or feet defroster setting it always does it. What could this be

Its the way it works. The car is drawing air from the outside, unless you are recirc.

Maybe on vent, but not on defrost etc. No vehicle of mine has ever done what the OP mentioned.

Yea it seems to be out of character... Like it blows hard to where I usually keep it on my feet becuase then it's not blowing my face away

its possible the linkage broke in the dash that moves the air flow direction. and its stuck on vent.

http://www.grandprixforums.net/threa...or-Replacement follow this thread to pen up the lower front dash areas. you'll see the linkage in the diagram with a round pump and a arm off it posted in the thread. its the round things and the linkage off them on both sides you need to watch. they only work when the car is running, vac operated ya know.

I think this is normal, we usually don't notice things like this in the winter and summer because we use the fan. When not selected and not on recirculate, when traveling down the road there is a high pressure area at the area of the hood and windshield, which is the reason they plac the intake for the AC system there. It allows the blower to work more efficiently trapped down there in all that ducting. It's like ram air for the AC. This is the same reason cowl type hoods were popular for carbed cars and for clearance. I have noticed this in almost every car I've driven including new rental cars. Noticed it I a Chevy Cruze last week.

This is exactly what I was saying. It is normal, even on defrost vent. In my Stealth I always kept the vent selector on defrost and even with no blower running I always had flow through the vent.

not normal at all. if its off, nothing should be blowing out the vents at highway speed.

Alright that's understandable... Mabye I'm just noticing it right now. I don't know if this helps but my control still works... Like if I want it blowing full blast then it works but like I said when I turn it to about the third or fourth mark going down the highway there isn't much of a difference in the amount of air comming out

i say your linkage is fubared up, broken, stuck what ever. newer cars especially gm cars, if the climate control is off, the system is shut down. unless you have it set to vent, then air will flow in with speed of the car.

That's what we are saying. He is set to vent, so it's open to the outside. If he just has the fan off, it will still flow from vent.

^^^ Yup, unless he is also stating that the first few notches or positions on the dial for the fan do not work as well. If they still blow while stopes then they work and you are just noticing this if not then a bad resistor or two.

when I drove that Chevy Cruze the Wisconsin and Illinois it was a almost 200 mile round trip. It annoys me that I was comfortable in the car but the air from the dash was too hot, then I turned it from heat to cold and then it got too cold the AC was off, but the vent position and temperature are not. There isn't a door that shuts air off completly from the
inside. Anyway I felt like goldilocks trying to find a comfortable setting.
