I have a 2002 Grand Prix GTP and i have had the problem with the key being stuck just as most others have. Recently i have had problems with the shift lock release and other things starting to go as well. I have found fixes for those 2 on here but this 3rd problem i haven't found a fix yet.
My key now comes out of the ignition in every position just as if it was in the off positon. Start, on, off and the backwards one for the radio. I just pull the key out easily as if it was always in the off position.
I have been letting my sister use the car and she said she couldent reach the solinoid to get the key out so she just yanked it out every time. I was pissed after hearing this and now i have the problem with the key comming out in every positon.
Is this really a problem that i would need to fix before selling the car? Or can i just leave it for now and it wont turn into a bigger problem?
I have yet to fix the first 2 problems, im working on them today and i have found the pink wire has broken off and i need to solder it back on. Hopefully that will fix the shift out of park problem.
Any help on the keys would be appreciated.
