Helo! i'll start out by saying, i'm new here, but not to the 3800 lol. i had recently purchased an 07 gtp/gt2. i am wanting to get into modding and have so far, switched to full synthetic fluids, a drop in air filter, and am going down a small size in S/C pully's. BUT i can't however figure out if anyone has any vehicle specific programmed PCM's or any type of "engine computer programming" so now i ask is there anything i can do with my series 3 3800 now or do i pretty much have to try and find "close enough" or generic universal crap that probably wont work. Also, i am wanting to do a intercooler asap any advice or products that you guys have used or that would fit my application? also getting the stuff and having work done is no problem because i sell cars at a large chevy store so i got the hook up lol, thanks in advance guys!!!

That link he gave you is pretty much everything you need to know about getting started modding, and how to do it, regardless of which model year or body style, that will go for any Grand Prix, and really most GM 3800 motors.

If you buy the tune from Overkill, you wont need to worry about the 04-05 deal, he'll give you one properly tuned for your 07 so that your fuel gauge will read correctly.

well i know that i read it over and it is a good start but, now where to go?? i don't know where to find such PCM's also intercooling? are there intercooling options for specific applications or are they pretty much a custom build type of deal? most of the stuff i'm seeing is for older gp's or for 5.3L's i'm just not seeing much that i could use for MY generation car does anyone know of anyone besides zz performance to find PCM's in this year range? also, if anyone has any advice on what specific products i could use i'm all ears! i'm just trying to get some real world advice from people who have modded these cars in the real world, thanks again!

There are links where to find stuff at the bottom of the 2nd post.

Most of the 97-03 stuff is the same as the 04+ crap.

That thread would have told ya that.

ZZP sells intercoolers, Overkill would be the way to go if you're 07...

Wideband o2 sensor if you're gunna be modding a gtp
HPTuners if you wanna be dropping pulleys or get into anything decent
You can find speed daddy headers on eBay for cheap, lots of people use those on here... ZZP sells headers too
    Downpipe, ZZP
I dunno, make your own intake out of home depot/lowes parts and the AEM cone filter off eBay
    Cam/Rockers from ZZP?
Modular Pulley system from ZZP for dropping pullies... it's all really easily findable by a search, all this stuff is talked about endlessly around here being the relatively limited parts to mod, vs how many new people ask about them or Member Ride section talking about them

Just some quick suggestions where to start searching.
