and mpg blow when your wot all day long lol

my boat had a 100 gallon tank. talk about a bill.

ever play with the prop size? i got the boat with a 19 inch, it launched out of the hole great but topped out at like 33 mph. so i went to a 21 and it would hit 45. but the hole shot suffered. i also got better mpg with the larger prop....or gph gallons per hour.

props aint cheap. the black al ones ran me like 175, a stainless steel one will run up to 500 and more.

why i always just ran the al props, if you hit bottom they can fix it for 75 bucks. you hit bottom with a SS prop and its trash. or wall art, hey look what i did!!!!

never leave home with out a prop wrench, and a spare prop. its like your spare tire.

I learned the hard way there. Chipped it on a rock. It was a black one. Cracked an entire blade. 125 down the drain.

i bent a few up, 2 times i hit bottom, once was rocks, boy that was a mess it took out the u joints in the out drive, glad i had insurance, that was a 2500 job.

the other two times i just hit floating debris and only tweaked the blades, but enough to feel it vibrate a little bit.

Hudson rivers a mess after a good storm. lots of crap you cant see till you hit it.

a few guys i knew sunk from hidden logs floating just under the surface, one went right through the front of this guys hull. lucky for him he was close to his port and he got back to his slip with a 10 foot log stickin out the bow of his boat lol

The motor says Vortec V6 on the side right??

If so and if it havent changed much, that motor is nearly exactly the same as the vortec 4.3's in the GM trucks but it's made by volvo.

A guy at work had bought a boat like 2 years ago with a blown motor, he bought a GM 4.3 from a blazer and swapped like everything over from the old boat motor and made maybe 1 or 2 custom things and it fired up and worked like a ****ing champ. Still runs to this day.

Yup that's the exact 4.3 this thing has in it. I though it was a Chevy made engine.

Figure it's still 90% GM made, but volvo does there own things to make it run on the water without a hitch.

Wtf. O well. If anything ever breaks on this engine it's easy to fix. I can sit on any side of the engine except the back. Walls around it just lift out

Your motor is really updated for the 4.3, better fuel injections and even an electronic throttle body for 2011+. Seeing how they cut that motor off in like 03 or 04 when the s10 died.

My co-woker was still carbed I think, maybe a TBI. His was an early 2000's model boat though.

This one is TBI I believe. But also isn't electronic. There's a throttle cable and linkage.

mine was tight as hell motor was under the deck for the most part, starter motor swap just about killed me. oil filter was also a disaster, i used to lay towels down to catch all that missed the pail.

oil change was easy tho, used to suck it out the dip stick.
