Amen to that , especially with a black car - still have the street scum on the paint

we have Delta Sonic here. I just paid $16 for unlimited washes for the month. Great deal all day

I've thought about getting the black ones, but like with the gps....aftermarkets suck. And I really like the output these stockers have.

Cold start with the rebuilt carb. I haven't started this car in a few days. I pumped the accelerator twice and it fired right up. Probably runs better than my 94 CS right now lol

sounds ok for having no exhaust on it.

them old cars just reek of class tho dont they? chrome trim all over the place, inside and out.

Its got an exhaust. Both resonators are shot. Probably the originals. Thats where it leaks from. The mufflers are in good shape but they look like they arent the originals.

These old cars sure are classy looking and use a lot of fuel doin so.

you need to remember gas was like 30 or 40 cents a gallon back then, and that cars got to weigh in around 6,000 lbs. its made of real metal.

my 70 bird probably got 6 or 7 miles to the gallon the way i drove it.

Well if you ever find a spare set you could crack them open and paint everything but the ridged portion so you don't affect the light output.

Did the "undercoating" today. Used much less grease than I thought it would take, only used about 1 14 oz tub. That's starting at the very front of the rockers, to the back and to the center tunnel thing for the exhaust. Just to the tunnel though, I didn't go inside it for hot exhaust reasons. Everything else looks pretty good under there. The sub frame isn't rusted out at all, and the trunk area frame looks okay, no need for lots of support back there though.

While under there I found that all of the necessary fluids are leaking from my car. Trans-Right output shaft seal, P/S-return line hose where it meets the "cooler"(removed factory clamp and used a real hose clamp), Engine-pan gasket, and brake fluid, both proportioning valves.

Also rotated the tires after a year and 2 weeks. Probably a little past due as I could see the tread difference between them. I put almost 5k miles on them so far. All city driving should be 3k mile rotations I guess. The rims' mounting surfaces got cleaned with a wire brush and antiseized.

Yesterday I put my Pontiac overlay on the front license cover. I got the silver color, which matches perfectly with the silver at the bottom of the bumper covers, and closely with my calipers.

I've thought of that too. I need to go to the pick a part and see what I can find. There are lots of guys on the impala forum I'm on that run the black depot ones and don't say much about the output, but the few that have said it's not worth it unless you don't use lights much. Which this time of year I do. It's dark when I go to work in the AM and dark when I leave.

Changed the WP, belt and the tensioner pulley on the GP Saturday. I learned not to make plans on the day of working on the GP.
