These are pretty old like 3 or more years id say, they used to be on our Trans Am yes my mom got 225's on a trans am. Then my dad spent 800 on some nice 255s. So we put them on my Dad's GP then when his died and mine needed tires, then they got transferred to my car. They are some nice Potenzas too, 7/32 tread left. Same as the Khumo 4x's on the rear. Before next winter I'm gonna buy all seasons for sure.
While dry rot isn't good, that doesn't look all that bad really.
The woman who owned my car before me owned it 10 years and only used it to drive to Arizona 4 times a year. Other than that the car sat in the garage. I had no idea how old the tires were, but they were worse than yours. Being I was 16 and working part time then those tires ended up lasting me 2 more years before I replaced them.
Over 30k miles in 2 years on dry ass rotted tires. Not saying it was safe but they did last.
Did that with my old tires about 10k miles that were bulging with broken belts. I called that tire maypop. Whenever I was with a buddy id say we are ridin on maypop.

Had my own horror story with old tires once like six years ago... my old Echo kept having its alignment thrown out of whack and I was really getting the maximum use out of the "1 year unlimited alignments plan for only an extra $20 at Tire Discounters" special, because it was out of alignment like five times in three months.
Until a buddy of mine pulled the wheel off, rolled it down his driveway, and we could see it wobbling from side to side. I had a lumpy tire. It was well past the end of its' useful life, but wasn't something readily visible with the tire on the car.
(Yeah, I didn't know jaaaaaack about cars back then.)
Well mine would vibrate the balls out of the car at speed and wiggle the wheel and car side to side at low speed

I always see the hard compound tires and super soft compound tire dry rot quick here in MN.
Those potenza's and almost anything michelin will do that but alot of the run of the mill grand touring tires with 40-60k mile warranty won't dry crack as quick.
question ... my metal plate that sits on the door ledge on the bottom that says GXP on my pass. side is coming lose. the glue must have let go over this winter.. or the gf broke it.. anyways.. would you just jb weld it back on or what would a guy us to glue it back down on to the metal door frame?
Use 3M weatherstripping glue
Today I'm installing my USB remote for my head unit, installing my Jl W3 12, and replacing my fuel pump's O-ring. Yesterday I spent $650 on some Falken ZE950 245\50\17, seems expensive, but when everything is all said and done I'll have bought Mustang Bullitts with brand new Falken's for $700 out of pocket. I've only driven the car about a mile with the tires and I'm very impressed. They're VERY quiet seem to be stuck pretty good. This weekend I should take it down some curving highways for few miles and check out how she's doing.
I did SPO's and Scangauge2.
