Excellent. Thats what I should have said. I think what I actually did on mine was wrap tape around the threads then measure to the center of the end. Because you're right, the threaded section's length can vary.

I saw this the other night and was completely shocked. i have never seen this type of hood on a 04+. the only time i've ever seen this style is in the 97-03. it was a special edition because it had the spo grill and the spo spoiler. there is an se that is in my town but i have never seen this hood before. has anyone else seen one? i can tell you one thing is that i wanted it... BAD
Yep that's the 04 special edition. GT's came with the multi-spoke chrome wheels from the 97-03 body style. GTP se's got that hood and wheels that look a lot like bonneville GXP wheels.
And both models got the SPO package, grills spoiler and exhaust tips
edit: that color blue was only available on the se's. The only other color I've seen was red, and that guy lives down the street from me and bought the car new in 04.
oh alright.. the reason why i was so confused is because the se i see rollin around my town didnt have that hood and ive never seen it on the forums or out on the road... well now i know! learned something new today.
flipped my dog bones today! finally nice enough out today to get something done.

Got gas, got some parts for a neighbors snowblower, and went through the $2 car wash, line was pretty long but moved fast. I'm gonna remove my semi-ghetto grille air blocks that I felt like adding for the really cold month of the winter. It's just clear plastic on the back side of the grilles. It's finally clean though
Realized the front tires are noticeably lower on tread than the back ones. Time to rotate them, I guess.
Also got the red 99 GT covered in tarps. Freaking snow coming this weekend. Repairs will begin next Monday most likely
Drove it and now it's fithly. I can't even wash it because by the time I get it home 3 miles down a dirt road it will be just as dirty again.
Made some AN fittings on my transmission lines i would of done straight AN from the trans case but 9/16-18 UNF is hard to find

replaced the trailing arms and brackets on my gf's GP. It was 55* today so I thought it was the perfect time
Everything turned out good also got the doorman trans pan installed. It'll be nice to have a drain plug in the trans pan now
