I hate to say it....
you lived up to your name
I would say wheel bearing but I doubt it, it sounds almost like something is sticking out and hitting things. Or like some sort of like heat shielding is loose and rattling.

I've babied the thing! lol. You can't even hear it with the windows up and music playing. My buddy today got in my car and said "roll your windows down, turn the music off, and listen.." I just thought oh god what now.. lol
Well looks like I'll be doing a passenger side axle soon and we'll see what that does. Gotta get some money first..
my gp is the easiest old change i have ever done on any car...filter is right there.. no reaching.
plugs, boots & air filter on the cavalier yesterday. looked at the GP to figure out what is up with the rough running at times. Didn't find much. found a few fuses that were not pressed in all of the way and one bent fuse. We'll see if it runs any better.
It was awkward compared to the ones I have done. I had never done it before so I had to guess what to use. And I couldn't get a ratchet onto the pan nut so I had to get up and use my ratcheting wrench then I didn't buy a filter wrench I thought I had one that fit so I struggled with that. Like it wasn't bad but because it was the first one I did with the car I was learning my way around it. Next one will be much sooner. I decided to buy conventional oil and a decent filter and just change it every 3k
ive yet to use a filter wrench on my car. comes off by hand every time.
The price difference between synthetic and regualr is so minimal now and days I don't even consider regular oil
My filter comes off by hand every time with no problems.
I normally turn the wheels to the right, just to have a little more access.
If your oil filter comes off by hand, it wasn't put on tight enough, or your hulk hands are surprisingly small.
20+ years of wrenching and I can count the # of "remove by hand" oil filters I've encountered on one hand. The other hand has an oil filter wrench in it.![]()
I never had to use a oil wrench I hand tighten mine. I usually use a piece of rubber that grips it tight and believe me it's not going anywhere. Nowadays I just turn the wheel and it makes for a quick oil change.
I guess I got those guerrilla hands lol I've only used a filter wrench about ten times and I did that for a living for over 2 years. I probably have +500 oil changes under my belt thanks to sears.
Drove the Regal to school and tore apart a Chrysler transmission. Pics to come. Anyone else have any idea what the hell the noise this Regal is making?
Give that Regal some justice and just gift it to Bill.
