Carefully clean the end of the pintle valve taking care not to push, pull, turn, or change it's position, replace or inspect the o-ring on the IAC, a little oil on the o-ring helps prevent pinching on re-installation.
If my idle is smooth, should I even bother with attempting to remove? Wondering if I should attempt to clean the EGR first?
Also, I saw some posts about having a bad MAP sensor. How would I know if I have an issue with that? Car does run and idle smooth. My concern has been around fuel economy and a random check engine light for P1404 after getting the power steering issues worked out.
