you can do it from the front, you just wont be doing as well of a cleaning. that screen comes off, theres a snap ring holding it in there, then use a tooth brush and brake cleaner open the blade and get in there, you want to clean the back side of the blade too. then wipe it all down nice with a rag best you can.

I took a stab at this earlier tonight. Just took off the snap ring and tried cleaning from the front. Used some carburetor cleaner and a rag and cleaned it as best as I could from the front. I can see that it would be easier with the TB out of the car but then I would need a new gasket. Still need to try and clean the EGR.
