    I will get a test light on it tomorrow to be sure but I would think none of the accessories including the fuel pump and ignition wouldn't be working if the fuse box was toast? Sorry I feel like i keep throwing your ideas back at you, I really appreciate the fact you are even spending your time trying to help. I will spray fluid straight into the tb tomorrow before go to work for a more accurate result.

    So I had a buddy who owns a shop here in town come take a look today, he said it sounds like it has no compression or the starter isn't engaging correctly. To accurately describe how the car sounds when you try to start it, it does kinda sound like a starter that's just spinning with a couple pops here and there.

    I'm not sure what that sounds like? Is there something that could have happened while installing rockers that could have messed with the vavles? I didn't touch the springs, I just pulled old rockers and reinstalled new ones with factory style bolts at 11ftlb and 90 turn.

    I'm almost 100 percent I way over tightened the rockers, they where pretty tough to turn the 90 after 11.

    what you use? new tty bolts? or reusable bolts? reusable are 25 ft lbs. and thats it.

    I used tty bolts. I got my buddy that's going to redo it at his shop with reusable bolts since I don't have any days off for a while. He is almost 100 percent sure there is no compression due to valves being open. After talking to my other buddy (the guy I bought the rockers from) I have come to the conclusion I over tightened them because I remember definitely compressing all the springs when I tightened them. I'm told it should not have been very hard to turn the bolts the 90 degrees after 11 ftlbs and I know it took alot of muscle to get them to turn the 90

    with the engine on a stand it was very easy to turn the motor till both valves were closed, then i tq'ed em, turn engine and repeat on the rest.

    you could still toss a ratchet on the crank bolt and spin it that way. others as well as my self have just tq'ed em with out spinning the engine.

    Well the good news is that a professional who has experience in doing this type of thing is going to fix my inexperienced screw up. I guess I was just following what I gathered from Google, some mistakes I think I made along the way that resulted in over torquing the rockers are 1- I tightened them down tight with my socket wrench first then came back thru with a tq wrench (needle style) and stopped at 11 ftlbs, more thank likely the bolts where already way past 11 from just my socket wrench, 2- I came back thru with my socket wrench and did a 90 degree turn on each rocker (over tightening them even more). He is using intense reusable bolts on the reinstallation and will tq to 25ft/lb. The even better news is that I gained experience from this. I learned about alot more than just rockers in all this. I would love nothing more than to fix my own screw up but as of 5 tonight I won't have another day off for over 2 weeks and I needed the car running like yesterday haha.

    i think you figured it out there, 11 ft lb is nothing really. very easy to turn right past that mark with a ratchet.

    So, a bit of an update, had to replace the wire that runs from the fuel pump relay to the pcm . Now here's what's got us stumped, my buddy losened up the rockers and the car started but is running like junk, (he did check compression on all 6 and all is well) he notices that if you run the car for about 3 minutes the rockers will start making noise, kill the car tighten them a bit more and so on and so forth, what's happening is the lifters are staying pumped up and taking a very long time to settle back down. If you tighten the rockers to 25ftlb right off the bat the vavles all stay open so he is having to slowly repeat the run/tighten/run cycle. What could have happened to make the lifters all pump up like that? He says only thing he can think is that I tried to crank the car with the rockers off, and i can promise that I didn't.

    take the push rods out, make sure they are not bent.

    Already done, I suppose I should give you a list of what's been checked. Compression on all 6 is good, pushrods are good, and oil is getting everywhere it needs to. The lifters are just staying up like they are holding pressure.well they are coming back down just very very slowly.
