And since I burned the stock one up that can prevent my car from starting? I'm far from experienced in this particular area but seems this should only affect the alternator?

I guess I'm just confused as to how this prevents the car from starting? I mean it is what it is and maybe I shouldn't question so much but maybe once I have the knowledge I can help someone in the future.

try the alt to box link first, then if that doesn't work...

I would suggest starting at the alt, and work your way towards the battery.

Should I take the factory red fusable link wire off from the box too or just disconnect it from the alt? I suppose I was just going to cut and tape the end at the alt and cut and tape the end at the box.

just disconnect it from the alt, dig through it later when you have a weekend to tear the harness apart. lol

While you're at it you can do a wire tuck as well, clean up the engine bay really nicely. lol

I'll have to research that this winter, but goal numbe 1 is to get my running car back haha. My wife uses the 04 and I haven't yet bought this year's winter beater haha. Wish me luck tomorrow, I'm going to bed with fingers crossed.

Well here's what I got made, we pooled solder in the terminals and crimped them. Didn't have big enough shrink tubes so I'll have to go buy some in a little bit. Gotta get brakes done on the 04 first today then I can get this on an pray.
