Saw this on sale today at the Tool Warehouse, OTC 3209 Scanner.

    From the website:

Live Data with color screen tool. Updated with 2013 model year coverage
    • Record and playback Live Data
    • Monitor battery, alternator, and charging systems
    • AutoID upon plugging the tool in will automatically populate vehicle data for most 2000 and newer vehicles
    • Works with all 1996 and newer vehicles (OBD II, CAN, EOBD)
    • View all modes OBD II global data including oxygen sensors and Mode 6
    • Reads and displays ABS and Airbag codes for most 1996 and newer GM, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, and Hyundai vehicles
    • USB update cable included

Anybody using this or heard anything about it? On sale for $104 plus free shipping, sounds like a great buy if it will in fact read ABS codes....

pretty sure a dhp will scan abs on newer cars, does all the same scans and more, and you can "tune" it too. win win win win all around dont ya think?

i know it wont on my 98.

Will a dhp scan abs on '03?

Mine was on for a while and i think the bulb is shot (in the cluster)

Weird thing is i replaced a bad wheel bearing up front due to the abs wire ripped, new bearing fixed abs light, had it aligned and abs/tcs came back on...

Would like to figure it out one day...

If dhp could do this, i guess my arm has been twisted into learning how to tune...

    :P

you have to ask around more about the abs, iirc bill told me it can do newer GP's, but not a 97-98 for sure. w

either way, the live data scan is a 100 times better then a hand held because it saves it and you can review it.

dhp also reads and clears normal codes, as well as does a crank learn too if ever needed.

Couple this with an android tablet and you have a pretty decent data viewer/logger...

    http://www.amazon.com/Professional-D...eywords=elm327

Clears and reads codes, although I can not read tranny temp (i think needs a custom config) or ABS...

Although for < $20, excellent code reader/data logger....

i got that too. torque app, also clears and reads codes if you can figure out how to log it will log a scan for you.

i can read abs wheel speed sensors with the t app. thats a bout it so far.

Ive got the OBD Link MX scan tool that I use with the Torque app.

    https://www.scantool.net/obdlink-mxbt/

Looked like this scanner does more?? Specifically I have a need to read ABS codes on the 98 GT right now, been poking around with that and am tired of throwing parts at it. After 2 rear hubs my daughter says "Gee Dad I thought you'd be able to fix it....."

as far as abs goes. i fought with mine right up to the point it won lol i pulled the abs fuse from the inside fuse box, one abs light on and thats that. i hate traction control, and who needs abs braking? car stops faster with out it.

I'll have to check but I believe that the Tapp reads wheel speed sensors on my 05'.

i got it scanned, changed hubs relays, the ebtcm, i lost the fight lol fuse removal, free. i must have a bad wire some where between the abs pump and the ebtcm. i just need to test the wires with a dmm. but dont have one. nor do i have the patients for all electrical gremlins.

"Reads and displays ABS and Airbag codes for most 1996 and newer GM, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, and Hyundai vehicles "

If you need a DMM, watch the Harbor Freight coupons, they usually have one they give away for free.

You might not need it, but ABS is something i LOVE having in the snow or rain. Without it no matter how hard you press down on the brake your sh%# will slide until it hits something. You have NO control without it.

this is not the thread to start that debate....but your 100% wrong. ill out stop you all day long in snow. and steer around stuff better then you can while braking.

i come from a time where abs was your foot and knowing how to drive. abs adds countless feet to any abs activated situation.

HF abs compatible scanner wouldn't read any abs related codes for my 04.

I use a OTC 9450 to read abs codes and it works just fine.
