So this guy at a local garage has a busted grand prix sitting at his shop. It has some front end damage. Left front fender is shot, headlight, bumper, not sure if the frame is hit or not. All four tires are flat/popped. Not really sure. Some visible rust. Intact interior. It is a GTP. He wants $1500 for the car, that I would have to get towed away. Is it really worth that much or can I try to convince him to sell it to me for less?

I can find them for $200 and under in my area, so $1500 is a little high, for that price you can get a fairly nice one without any damage

How do we convince you this car isn't even worth your purchase? There are a million plus 97-03 Grand Prixs out there. I am sure there is a better one available for the money.

I paid $1800 for my 97 with 154k miles on it back in 2010, it "needed" a new trans. Trans lasted another 30k miles. A wrecked 97-03 gp is worth scrap at best.

you could find a running gtp for less is the point........its just a grand prix, your not saving history here.

It seems ridiculous but if you remove the body from that GTP subframe / trans / engine / computer as a unit... its instantly worth more than if the car is attached. These poor cars have like a negative value, lol.
All Grand Prix, all the time. 69 Model J, 99 GT & GTP coupes. All junk, haha.
